Going Open Source: The Next Step after Geyser’s Two-Year Development

We are thrilled to announce that Geyser is ready to step into the arena of Open Source.

There have been numerous discussions about this over the past year inside Geyser. None of us really opposed it, but everyone was a bit cautious of the overhead it might bring and if not done right, we’ll be diminishing the brand instead of making it bigger. But sooner or later this was coming and here it is now.

In the traditional context, crowdfunding and creator platforms rely heavily on closed monetary and social networks. Unfortunately, this confines the advantageous potential of crowdfunding primarily to a handful of Western countries and restrictively curtails project reach and social interaction within the platform’s boundaries. Conversely, Geyser envisions a more connected, inclusive, and empowered world for creators globally.

Why Open Sourcing:

In essence, we are fuelled by the bedrock principle of openness upon which Bitcoin and Nostr were constructed. Open source allows for transparency, broader reach, and communal development. We believe in the collaborative potential of shared knowledge and creativity in solving problems and crafting innovative ideas.
